We deserve hours we can count on, management that listens, and time off to care for ourselves and our loved ones.
In more than ten years of speaking out, engaging in mass protests, and even going on strike, United for Respect Education Fund has pushed Walmart to raise base pay, change its pregnancy accommodations program, and provide paid family leave to 500,000 associates working full-time.
But we’re not done fighting, and we have the right to push for more.
We live in an economy where increased prices for food and housing don’t result in a bump in our paychecks. We deserve a livable wage and our fair share of the massive profits generated by our labor.
In an increasingly divided and dangerous society, we deserve to feel safe at work.
And as the experts on what’s happening on the floor, we deserve to feel heard.
We deserve a livable wage, an end to productivity quotas that put us at risk, and the right to organize without fear of retaliation.
In 2020, Amazon execs worked from the safety of their homes while orders spiked and our warehouses became pandemic hotbeds. Associates went on strike, gaining attention from members of Congress and the media. Years later, the frantic pace of work at Amazon continues — and associates are still injured at rates double the industry standard.
That’s why we’re not done fighting. We have the right to fight for our safety without fear of retaliation. As the ones whose labor powers the profits pocketed by Jeff Bezos and Andy Jassy, we deserve a livable wage. We deserve a workplace free of unsafe and exploitative workplace policies. And as the experts on what’s happening on the warehouse floor, we deserve to feel heard.
