Get respect at work

Every worker has a right to dignity and respect on the job. We’re fighting for liveable wages, safe workplaces, and resilient communities — and together we have the power to win.

You deserve your fair share

As associates at Walmart and Amazon, our work creates record profits for some of the world's richest people — while our families struggle to make ends meet. By joining together, we pressure the most profitable companies on the planet to adopt practices and policies that raise job standards throughout retail and empower workers and their families to thrive.

Unfair, unstable, unsafe

Underpaid retail & warehouse associates work long hours for little pay while our health, safety, and well-being are put at risk.

People over profits

We're fighting to protect workers from corporate greed, invasive surveillance, and harmful automation — to win livable wages, healthcare, dependable schedules, & RESPECT.

Join Our Movement

Our labor powers the biggest corporations in America. Together we can build an economy and democracy that works for all of us—not just the billionaires.

Fighting for Respect

We deserve living wages, safe workplaces, schedules our families can count on, and influence over the decisions that impact our work and our lives.
Together, we are taking on the largest retail companies to fight for what’s right — because winning quality jobs at Walmart and Amazon is the gateway to changing the service economy as a whole.

Bold, structural change is impossible without worker voices at the tables where decisions are made. That’s why UFREF brings our fight from the front line to the boardroom and halls of Congress.

Prioritizing People Over Profits

Unchecked corporate greed takes a physical, emotional, and mental toll on associates and our families.
We bring together people working in retail to support each other in your fight for good jobs, exposing exploitative practices through your voice and leadership.

When We Fight, We Win

Amazon workers organizing with UFREF fought to clean up their facility, getting clean water and safer ventilation. Walmart workers fought for full time and higher wages.

Strength in Numbers

Speaking out and taking action together, we are impossible to ignore. Across stores and facilities, we’re forcing greedy employers to respect people working in retail.

Respect for All Workers

We know workers have the power to shift public and corporate policies by sharing their stories and shining a light on what’s really happening - because we’ve done it before.

We are in this together

For over a decade, we’ve brought retail associates together to fix what’s broken inside the richest corporations in the world.
We’ve moved Walmart to raise wages, pushed giant private equity firms to create funds for retail associates they’ve laid off, and have helped workers successfully push back on Amazon’s illegal retaliation for organizing. And we’re just getting started.

FAQ

No, United for Respect Education Fund is not a traditional union, but is rather a 501c(3) nonprofit advocacy organization dedicated to building a future where all workers have the power, time, and money to lead full, free, empowered lives. We work to get through through grassroots organizing and advocating for policy changes, not directly negotiating collective bargaining agreements with employers.

The National Labor Relations Act protects workers from being retaliated against for exercising their rights – and that includes organizing your coworkers for better working conditions. If you feel you’re being retaliated against, you can file a claim with the National Labor Relations Board.
